Women are (n't) complicated

I have just finished reading a book and I am soooooo drowned into it nooow. Where She Went really got under my skin. This book turns out to a better book (Read: Incredible) compared to If I Stay. Well, just like Adam, knowing that both of them are no longer longer together (Mia dumped him without any hint of explaination) since the accident really makes me wondered. Why Mia why ?!

"She kissed me good-bye. She told me that she loved me more than life itself. Then she stepped through security. She never came back."

"Ever hear the one about that dog that spent it's life chasing cars and finally caught one - and had no idea what to do with it? I'm that dog."

Like him, I am angry too. Sometimes, I feel like I can feel everything what is he going through.. All things that he say, really breaks me :( Reading through the lines make me think a lot. How the power of love can destruct one self... And the worst is, how can Adam's story touches my heart more rather than the story of Mia losing her family.. They are amazing. Well, perhaps Adam's story is too bitter. And his emotions is too strong.... I can't help myself to feel upset at Mia.. how can she has the guts to leave Adam.. Hm, am I sobbing over a guys's broken heart now ? Haha

But, of course, the best part of this book is when Mia and Adam met again after being departed.. and start to talk about what really happened since three years ago. I really don't want to care on what Mia says. What I know is she really has no solid reasons to leave Adam. But, as I start to re-think again, the only thing that Adam do after he was left by Mia is only blaming her. And he takes a lot of anger out on others.. (I was influenced too. haha)... And you know, he even have another girlfriend after that too! Wow.

“It would ’ve been easier to die. It’s not that I want to be dead now. I don’t. I have a lot in my life that I get satisfaction from, that I love. But some days, especially in the beginning, it was so hard. And I couldn’t help but think that it would’ve been so much simpler to go with the rest of them. But you—you asked me to stay. You begged me to stay. You stood over me and you made a promise to me, as sacred as any vow.”

"You talked to me, but you didn’t. I could see you having these two-sided conversations. The things you wanted to say to me. And the words that actually came out.”

When Mia finally tell him the reasons, I am quite stunned. I don't expect that it is also hard on her (Well, obviously she is the one who left. Why she should be sympathized ?). Ok, I 'm lying. If only I am Mia, I 'll do the same as her too. I guess. I don't mean to sound insensitive. But, I understand how Mia feel too. Sometimes we are too tired to explain things. Can't men just reflect & think what had they promise to us.. and what exactly had they done in order to fulfil all the promises ? Look, ok (Just now, I was on Adam's side. But now I am going to gang with Mia). Am I being complicated here ? Ah. My brain hurts now. Till then, take care guys. Haha

Wet days

It has been so wet since last two days, signifies that the rainy season has come to Kelate. Wuuhuuu! Well, this rainy days, you know... -the perfect time to stay in the pyjama longer! Hehe. Since I 'm on my holiday, staying in the bed with the sound of wonderful rains seems so good! ...But, the rainy season this time seems different. The continuous rain has caused heavy flood in several places in Kelate (Lucky that my home is not affected. Alhamdulillah). & One of the most affected areas is in Mache, one place that I heart very much. Looking at all the pictures, it was quite shocking to see there were water pooled in most of the places, including the front road of the campus. It must be hard for everyone there. My deepest condolences goes to the flood victims and I pray that everything will go well. Stay safe, everyone :)

By the way, ... I don't know how to tell about this. It 's just, I dreamed the same thing over and over these few days. It was related to water (a lot). Telling best friend about the dream was not helping (?) -Ok ok, he helped! He came out with one or two theories, and they were all fun-ny! But, still I could not forget it. Hm, perhaps the dream is trying to relay me some messages ? Ohhhh man, I 'm dizzy. Let's hope it is just only a dream. Please.

The rain, water, flood, & the dream T___T

"It is okay". He tells me. "If you want to go. Everyone wants you to stay. I want you to stay more than I have ever wanted anything in my life". His voice cracks with emotion. He stops, clears his throat, takes a breath, and continues. "But that is what I want and I could see why it might not be what you want. So I just wanted to tell you that I understand if you go. It's okay if you have to leave us. It's okay if you want to stop fighting". -If I Stay, Gayle Forman.

I cry reading this paragraph. It is very heartbreaking :( I bought this book after noticing that the cover of the book is very attractive. Well, ok it was not mine bought the book. My best friend did. I whats-app(ed) him the cover of the book in the morning, he bought it in the evening of the same day (wow), but I only received it one month after that. Haha! At first, I never really get what is the story about, although I read the synopsis for several times (I tell you, I am attracted to this book because of the cover). Those who have read or watch this story probably know what happens. Everything changes in a single moment when Mia and her family involve in a disastrous car accident. To make it more worst, she is the only one who survive...... and basically, this novel is only about a girl who is facing an ultimate dilemma: To live or to die.

Though, this book really provoked me a lot of thoughts. As Mia struggled to make decisions whether to live or to die, which I think it must very hard on her, I do take my own time to think about my decision too (I have decided, I guess). Cannot deny, decision making is always a very painful process. Mia's story is beautiful. But, buying this book to only read about a soul wandering in the hospital..... Ahhhhh nvm, it is my choice (And my best friend pays for it. Haha!) I tell you earlier, the cover of the book is very seducing. hehe. So, the real lesson ? Don't judge a book by its cover ;)

The sequel of Divergent

Source: Google

Hm. I rarely love fantasy novels / movies. I don't hate it, but I don't love it too. I don't know why, perhaps it pulls me too far away from the reality (I can't relate any of them to my life. Haha). And, sometimes I afraid it may affect my belief to my religion too (Read: Fety is so old - fashioned).. Until today, the only novels and movies that I survive watching and read is Harry Potter. But now, since I am on the long break, I think I should give Insurgent a try. Surprisingly, when I thought I 'll abandon this novel after two or three chapters, I finish this book in one day. This novel exceeds my expectation!

This novel is the sequel of Divergent (I watched Divergent, not reading it). You know, we were left hanging at the end of Divergent, wondering what Tris and her faction would do after escaping the simulation. Well, although Insurgent literally picks up from that last page; it took me for a while to remember what had happened previously. And I even watched Divergent again! Haha. I love to read on how Tris has to deal with the consequences of the things that she had done before. She is deeply hurt, physically and mentally... & how she hastily put back herself in order to survive.. They are really admirable. In this book, she faces a lot of events that making her to choose either to go for the bad or the worse, and finally how to be responsible on her decision. Ah, it reminds me of my dilemma T__T Of course, one of the main reasons how she can keep going is because she has Four with her!  ...He still believes that I am strong. Strong enough that I don't need his sympathy. I used to think he was right, but now I am not sure.... Four is very supportive. The way on how he pushes Tris to come out as best as she can when she is having a very hard time strikes me. Despite of all the arguments and fights, these two are totally completing each other :)

I have to admit that I am not a big fan of fantasies series. Am I more to realists ? Haha. But, I cannot deny that both of these series Divergent and Insurgent have lessons that the writer would like to convey. We should not live life with only one trait. What the.. with all the factions ? After all, we have to accept that everyone has their own personalities and it is never right to isolate other people for their differences. Oh another one, reading to the end of this novel makes me think that sometimes, lying is good to spare the feelings of others; especially to the ones who we loved. Tipu sunat! Haha

The true test of love.

“How different this moment feels, for so many reasons. I tell myself that no two loves are identical - but that I don't have to compare anymore.”
My first book for this long semester break! It has been a long time.... since my last read. phew. Somehow, it is quite weird to think that how can I manage to read more during my foundation years compared to now. How can a science student has time to read novels more that a business student ? Haha. -Perhaps, she has no life that time. The only world that she knew were the thick biology book & yes, novels :)

Love The One You're With by Emily Griffin. My sister bought this book for me a long time ago, but I just had chance to read it these past few days (I have no much time to read before this, please believe. hehe). I don't know how much stars should I rate for this book. Basically, this novel discussed a situation which most of people have been. Ellen who wondered if her husband, Andy, was really her soul-mate. A chance to encounter with her ex-boyfriend, Leo, gave Ellen a small glimpse into the relationship they could have had and suddenly made her question why she broke up with him. & here, the drama begins.

Sometimes, Ellen just stressed me out. She had a lot of thinking, but the way she always kept everything inside and never talk to Andy about her true feelings was very maddening. Ah, out of sudden I feel like I 'm reading myself here. haha. But for sure, I hate Leo. Any real man who genuinely cared for her would have left her alone instead of putting her in dilemma. I mean, she is somebody's wife already and you have nothing related to her anymore. Go and get your own life! (emo. haha).
In the end, I 'm glad finally Ellen can think straight and stick to Andy. Andy was too cool. How sweet he was when he went to NY by himself to find his wife. I cried a little inside :( This reminds me to my best friend's question once, if there 's any circumstance comes to us one day, will you defend this relationship ? ............

After all, Love the One You’re With is a story that goes straight to the heart of what it means to love and be loved, and to find a way to live with difficult choices. So, have you encounter things like this in your life ? How did you settle your feelings ? Let's share.

Too long, didn't read.

How far would you go to find the man of your dreams?

Ahh, seriously it has been a long time I 've not read. Not that I 've lost interest in reading, it is just the matter of time.. (Alright, I get it. Lame excuse).

It Started with a Kiss by Miranda Dickinson. hehe. The title is quite annoying right? Haha, basically I didn't expect that this novel will be this good, but it happened to be wow! Beautiful story indeed! ;)

Romily was secretly in love with her best friend Charlie. The thing that I respect the most was she confessed it. She showed strength when she was honest with Charlie, although she was rejected after that -I feel you, Romily. huhu. (This is the point where I fall in love with this novel). She ran away and  made fall a toys stall. It was nice to know that she still can run. If I were Romily, probably I 'll sat there and cry to death. & perhaps, another series of depression ? haha.

To make it short, the trouble that she made met her with a handsome stranger. Love at first sight, I guess. Romily thanked him for helping her and then walked away before both of them bumped into each other again. & ....the scene ended with a special kiss, haha what a quick action! I assumed it must be a very special kiss that Romily decided to find him again (Yes, that guy left w/o teling his name/ number).

I could not put this novel down now. haha, I bet my assignment 'll be ignored again tonight.  'll update this entry later! See you! ;)

Mum's List, St John Greene

A declaration of undying love, of 'infinity acres and acres'

Quick update:

I know nothing about this book when I picked it up. I was moved by the title.. A true warm story of family's survival through the horror of cancer. Kate knew that she would be leaving her boys soon (Reef & Finn, and her loving husband, Singe). That is why, over her last few days, Kate created what so called the Mum's List. The couple talked and cried together as she wrote her thoughts down. The last thing that she wrote in her list was: find a woman to settle down with so the boys can have a female influence and stability in their lives.. I don't know whether I 'm strong enough to tell this to my love one day.. Even to write it.. I don't think I can afford. :)

Apart from that, I respect Singe for being so strong to write his story, as a tribute to Kate and the wonderful life that both of them shared (I am looking forward to write mine too, one day! I Allah, Amin Amin).. I love Singe's words on how he described his soul mate from the day he met her. Couldn't agree more, I was so drawn into the Singe's personal story. This book is highly recommended. Go and read one, everyone!

___________________________________________________

It is the duty of everyone to keep his Iman in check. In this case, I do have problem. Once I have skipped doing one action for one day, it is quite difficult for me to continue it again. In the end, I 'll skip for several days before resuming the action back. Manusia kan ada angin. So berangin. Despite reading all story books, lovey dovey fairy tales, I determine to finish up reciting the Ibu Segala Buku  (you-know-well) within these five weeks. Doa- doakan, mudahan tak lalai. Angin baik sepanjang minggu. huhu.

Even if I wanted to be friendly, the last thing I will do is to talk politics

Yes, as we grow older,  we tend to become increasingly convinced of ourselves and the opinions that we hold. Well, we all think differently. I wish people would not fight over it. Talking too much bla bla bla, copy and paste-ing all the (can't spit out this. 'll be an issue here. huhu). Still after all, we could not voting this year. The time will come when we have to decide what we believe. Be patient.

House Rules

Your son can't look you in the eye
But does that make him guilty ?

It takes me almost one week to finish this novel (this is the thickest novel that I had read, I guess. 554 pages!). House Rules is an interesting an eye-opening book about a boy named Jacob Hunt who has Asperger's Syndrome. The lives of the Hunt family have never been easy. Jacob's Asperger's Syndrome makes it impossible for him to connect well to others and his tantrums can become violent. His obsession with crime and forensics ties him to the death of his tutor and he is arrested for murder.

From there, everything becomes increasingly harder, and breathtaking for the reader up until the last page. It's sad, and sometimes hard to read. I love this novel, but if there something that I can change, I would like to modify the ending. This novel ended with the part where it was Theo's birthday and they found the truth. I know, Jacob didn't kill her, Theo didn't, either. The fact that she just slipped and hit her head.., that was lame!

But, I was touched with Jacob's answer.. When he was asked why he set up a crime scene to cover up for Theo.. He says simply, "House Rules, take care of your brother; he is the only one you've got".

Siblings are forever

I am lucky enough, to become best of friends with my siblings. Hehe. Well, my siblings are my first peer group, from them, I learn how to manage conflicts. In the mean time, I think it is common for siblings to fight. Hey, hey everyone fights, you cannot assume that we are always tolerate with each other, right ? Never ending competition for attention, endless fighting over blouses, sneakers, even tudung! (toys are exception, we siblings are not really into toys). Pushing, hitting, pinching, kicking, etc -you can name it. hihi.

But, as we grow up (I can't tell when, but the time 'll come.. Since we are fighting, almost everyday now.. hehe), we will slowly understand the power of siblings relationships and finally, we 'll realize that while friendships come and go, siblings are permanent. We cannot choose our siblings as we do friends; that is what makes this relationship unique. :)

Dear John,

What does it means to truly love another ?

Hehe. Despite of the the final exams, I managed to finish this novel (actually, this is the second within this week. huhu). Back to the title, Dear John is my first Nicholas Sparks novel and seriously, I was blown away.

Well, when I first began to read, I never thought that it would amount to such an intriguing book, not only discussing about love story but tying in other things, such as fate as well. And.. this novel shows that.. this is life.. In life, we don't always get the happy ending and we don't always get to be with the one we love. And, at least, Tim is a good guy. He is there, every time Savannah need someone as her companion. That 's enough, I guess..

"I love you, Savannah, and I always will," I breathed. "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me. You were my best friend and my lover, and I dont regret a single moment of it. You made me feel alive again, and most of all, you gave me my father. I'll never forget you for that. You're always going to be the very best part of me. I'm sorry it has to be this way, but I have to leave, and you have to see your husband."

It was so heart breaking when John says they can never see each other again because Savannah is married and it would not be right to even remain friends (Seeee, how gentle man John is!). The way John concluded his thoughts about what real love makes my heart melt. Yes, it is not a happy ending, but truly insightful and touching. Love means that you care for another person's happiness more than your own, no matter how painful the choices you face might be.

Update:
Hold my hands and take me in the path of Jannah

No one can doubt, feelings to love and be loved.. are real.. natural. He has placed all those eww eww feelings within all of us, humans.. To be ready to bond -Me, also want the same, of course! For a long time, I have been wondering, have to wait for five to six or even maybe ten years after both have been declared into a special kind of relationship.. How hard it is.. Kan ?

Hey, lets follow the flow. For the time being, it is time for us to enjoy the world, to learn.. Yang mana baik, yang mana buruk.. And... If we are meant to be together, of course we 'll be one, one day! Aamin Aamin. :)

By the way, everyone today is busy talking about the role of Muslimah. There are a lot of awareness to educate women regarding their duties (Women have to take care of their appearance, be patient, always sacrifice, bla bla etc). Aren't men is not included in this command ?

Gadis - gadis Kota Riyadh

Aku menulis tentang gadis- gadis temanku. Setiap orang ada cerita sendiri, bandingkan ceritanya dengan ceritaku

Little children headache; big children, heartache

This novel is interesting, thanks Mia!

Raja Alsanea did a great job writing the book. This novel is about four girls from the origin of Saudi Arabia who lives in the upscale city of Riyadh. They are bound by family, tradition and culture in determining the spouse. In matters of love and marriage, the family has a power to determine their respective partner. Rails lines of ethnicity and family history are the major factors in determining a mate for their children.

Bila ada yang mahukan kita, jiwa kita menolaknya
Bila pula kita mahukan seseorang, takdir menolaknya dari kita

The plot is developed further by telling the stories of romantic disappointment girls named Lamees, Sadeem, Gamrah and Michelle. The story of forbidden love, love without parental consent, marriage and divorce a month after the various conflicts are successfully explored by Raja Alsanea. The ending is not a happy ending but at least, it is the best thing happen to the four main characters in the novel. :)

What's wrong with teenagers today?

After reading this novel, I asked myself with the question above. It's so sad how quickly youngsters are growing up these days. In the mean time, scary! I wonder how the lives of my children will be one day, how fast will they grow up? *risau*

Versus, Hlovate

Buat awak yang mahu berubah,
Berubah lah walaupun payah

Versus is the first Hlovate's book I've read. The book conveys a message that everyone can change, and a change in attitude can probably change your life. Reminder, this is not an ordinary novel. Anti Malay- novel? Then, try this one! You 'll be addicted to it. Hehehe (Thanks Mia!)

The phrase that I love the most:

“All verses in the Quran are like personal love letters from God to us. Tak percaya tengok dia punya translation. If you want to find solace and calm for the sore, the words will heal it straight away. Ayat memujuk macam dalam al-Insyirah and ad-Dhuha. Sooth you anytime. Sweet!”.

You won't regret choosing this book. Trust me :)

Things I Want My Daughters To Know

How do you cope in a world without your mother?

An hour after two first tests today. (Hehe)

Saw this novel on Nad' s bed. Well, I pick up this book because of the title. Things I Want My Daughters To Know. Interesting! :)

This story is mainly about a woman who says goodbye to her daughters through a series of letters and a journal in which she expresses her hopes and dreams for their futures and confesses secrets she couldn’t voice in life. The words of their mother touch the girls in different ways as they make their own journeys through life.

This book is both heartwarming and heartbreaking. It covers the sister’s reaction to their mother’s death, and the resulting bond that ties them together much tighter than before. I like this novel very much.
Current mood: Umi, I miss you! :(

-Chit Chat Remaja Mengenai Sahabat, M. F. Abu Bakar.

______________________________________________________

Saya rasa: *Mengeluh*.

Kami sayangkannya :) *sekali lagi, mengeluh panjang*.

How Starbucks Saved My Life

Story of a Man who had it all,
then lost it all,and found it again

Though I'm not even a coffee drinker, much less a Starbucks frequenter, I've chosen to read this book. From the moment he was born, Michael Gates Gill led a privileged life. His parents were well-off, and nothing was too expensive for their son.

He studied at Yale and, upon his graduation, walked straight into a job with a major advertising firm. He worked hard with the firm, doing everything he could for the company and his clients - he earned well, but often allowed his family life to suffer.

Naturally, after twenty-five dedicated years with the company, he was fired. Gill hasn't worked in months and he's sitting in a Starbucks near his childhood home, nursing a latte. In a massive stroke of luck, that branch of Starbucks is throwing an open house.

______________________________________________________

Work, no matter what it is, is what you make it

While I'm not a big fan of Starbucks coffee, I found this book a delightful read. I enjoyed reading about Gates' journey from an upper job, his decline, and how he found happiness in menial tasks like scrubbing toilets, talking to customers, and working a Starbucks bar. The book conveys a message he learned from his eldest daughter Bis about work being dignity.

Where Rainbows End

For the third time, I read this book and.. Love it, love it, love it! I love this book! It my favourite book from Cecelia, Its written in the unusual form of emails, IM's and letters. I read the whole book in one sitting. I cried with laughter during different parts of the book.

I love Rosie Dunne, and in turn, Alex, too. To like this novel you have got to like both of the main characters as they are featured the heaviest, writing notes and emails and things to each other. I couldn't help feeling for the pair of them and hoping that, for once, fate would allow them to be together. What can I say is Where Rainbows End is the ultimate love story.

As promised, the happiness projects ;)

Beauty is power, a smile is its sword.

Whoever is happy will make others happy, too

That is happiness, to be dissolved into something completely great! :)

Ohh. Thanks friends. What can I say is ALLAH makes lots of people in all colors, shapes, and sizes. He loves them very much. Instead, we need to look on them in love and sing this song: I can be your friend. I can be your friend. Any day in any weather. We can be friends and play together.. :)

People say that life is the thing, but I prefer reading. - L P Smith

Received this book from Umi on my 18th birthday last February. I do have to say, this was a sweet and surprisingly heartwarming book. I certainly wasn't expecting it to be a ghost story!

In Twenties Girl, Lara Lington attends the funeral of her 105-year-old great-aunt, Sadie Lancaster, whom she never knew. Then all of a sudden, Sadie's ghost, at the age of 23-years-old, appears to Lara. Lara is the only one who can hear or see Sadie. Sadie begs Lara to stop the funeral and to help her find her dragonfly necklace.

I thought there were some funny moments between Lara and Sadie. My favourite moment was when Sadie dressed Lara for her date. Check this one out! It might not be the Shopaholic series or Can You Keep a Secret. But definitely read it and let me know what you think. I think this is one of those books that some will love and some will not love but like. You won't hate it, that's for sure! :)

P.S I Love You

"If we were leaving in a world where to say I love you would make more sense, I would always say to you I love you" -Ozge Dilsiz

A story about holding on, letting go, and learning to love again.

I saw both the movie and read the book P.S. I Love You and I thought that both were absolutely wonderful. If I were to suggest either one to you it would be the book, there is detail and so many parts that are not in the movie.

When you read this book you can really feel it in your own heart how she is feeling when she reads these letters her husband has written for her.

This is a wonderful story that I suggest for every girl, or woman that has ever been in love or hopes to one day be in love. As for me, this was a very well- written story. It made me cry and then made me laugh out loud while the tears were still strolling down my face in the next line. -p.s. : I Love You

My Best Friend's Girl

I borrowed this novel from Nana ( as a weekend read ). Well, I tried to stop at the end of the chapters but it just kept pulling me back. This book blew me away, reading the relationship between Kamryn and Tegan unfold and how they dealt with Adele's death.

This novel is about Kamryn Martika's life which was in shambles. Kamryn and Adele were the very best of friends from their meetings. They stood by each other through thick and thin until Kamryn found out two weeks before wedding that slept with her fiance. The wedding was off and the friendship was OVER.

Two years later, she had finally begun to accept what life dealt her and move forward. Kamryn attempted to cut all the communications but Adele managed to contact her. Adele was in the hospital dying and needed someone to care for her child, Tigan – Nate’s daughter, five years old. It was not an easy decision for Kamryn since she was still angry with Adele.

_____________________________________________________

What would you do for the friend who broke your heart ?

My Best Friend's Girl is an extremely interesting novel that deals with several serious issues. I wondered, if I am at Kamryn's place, will I do the same thing as Kamryn did? I admire Kamryn for her deed. I would like to recommend this book to any fans who enjoy stories about bestfriends. This novel is solid and very enjoyable. This is the first book that I 've read from Dorothy Komsoon. However, it definitely won't be the last! *wink*
